Things I’m Not Buying(but want to) #1

Track Jackets.

Unfortunately, right now I’m trying not to buy anything.
Not for some noble minimalist reason.
Just because my wardrobe is on a diet.
It needs to get smaller, not bigger.

If I walk into a store or scroll too long, something ends up in a cart.
A perfect example is this Hoka x Unna collab I had open for way too long and is now en route.

But lately I keep coming back to one thing.

Track jackets.

Not hoodies.
Not sweaters.
Track jackets.

Maybe it’s the LA weather.
Maybe it’s that windbreakers do the job better than they should.
Maybe it’s all the retro sports photos I’m always looking at.
But there’s something about them that feels right at the moment.

Before I get into it, quick note.
Mum, I know you’re reading this, so.. I am not spending $850usd on a track jacket.
You can save the “you’ve got more money than sense” message.
This list is for the people who do.

1. Acne Studios ‘Olando’ Poplin Jacket

Lightweight. Clean. Expensive in a silly way.
Feels like something Dad used to wear, but upgraded for a gallery opening. Love the zip that goes up and down.

2. Willy Chavarria Bad Boy Track Jacket

This one has attitude.
If you’ve seen me, you know the gold zip matches my accessories.
It’s giving very fancy (and successful) Berlin taxi driver.

3. Jacquemus Windbreaker

If I was a luxury guy, this would be the one.
But I’m not and I also don’t spend $850 on a jacket like this.
But I can appreciate it.
Jacquemus always gets the proportions right. Love the kinda cropped vibe.

4. BEAMS Shaka Jacket

Probably the right balance between price and personality.

5. GNG State Jacket

I am not familiar this brand. And I also think you’d need to go a size larger for the right look. But it’s clean. Simple. Good value.

6. Gramicci Twill Around Jacket

Different fabric, same vibe.
This one is more outdoors, but I love how it fits.

I’ve been thinking about a good track jacket for a minute now, so I’m hoping by posting this is me letting it go. And my brain can put the limited attention space it has to something more productive.
