Moodboard Mondays were something I started in November 2018 as a way to show my interests and where my inspirations were coming from at the time. I was also looking to expand my network in my new-ish home of Berlin, as I was doing the unthinkable: starting my professional network again from scratch.
So this made sense for a number of reasons:
It showed my new connections what I liked and my interests.
I continued to evolve my personal taste and curiosity across all mediums.
Helped me figure out, most importantly, why I like the things I do.
It was a content series mainly created for LinkedIn, which eventually made its way to Instagram, but now it’s coming to Substack, meaning straight to your inbox. This will start again next week, but I wanted to take you back before we can move forward.
How it evolved
The first ever. (Screenshot from LinkedIn, hence the strange format.)
It included a bit of everything, even some jewellery I made.
I got bored with the design as it felt stale, so that started to change.
Then again. This layout and logo were just a placeholder that stayed around too long, so I rebranded myself and showed part of my moodboard before doing so.
Which then turned into this.
And then here are just some of my favourites from over the years.
Little did I know that I’d end up VP of Brand & Marketing of a soccer club in Cali, using similar references to design kits that are sold all over the world.
I still get random messages from people saying they miss seeing Moodboard Mondays on their LinkedIn feeds. I’m not going to pretend my inbox is overflowing with these messages, but it does happen.
So this is for you.
What’s next
On (some) Mondays, you’ll get a version that is created and user-friendly for your inbox. It will be easy to skim, but either educational or entertaining.
I respect your time & your inbox, so I only send emails when I think they are valuable - which is why it’s been a while since my last one.
Sometimes it will include creative projects that you might not have seen. Sometimes it will just include what is currently on rotation in my life, from clothes to DJ sets and anything in between.
Either way, it will be what is inspiring me, hopefully helping spark some creative juices for you.
This is my way of bringing Moodboard Mondays back to life.
As always, thanks for your time.
Hopefully, this brings a smile to your dial.
See you next week.
Hayden
